Four female captives stand bravely waiting to hear which of them will be cooked and eaten that very day. It was traditional to honor guests by providing an attractive female on which to feast, and it was considered the highest tribute to allow the guest to choose the young lady himself. This custom at first presented a moral dilemma for the author until he realized that one of the girls was going to be eaten regardless of who chose her, and while that girl would certainly be disheartened at the news, the others would experience a temporary feeling of relief and possibly even a fleeting sense of false hope. With so much at stake, the author recognized that he owed it the young ladies to be entirely fair and impartial. He, therefore, invested considerable time inspecting each of them fully and squeezing various body parts to gauge tenderness. Which girl would the reader choose?
