BUT THE NATIVES MAY BE UP TO NO GOOD

Above and below are the final two pictures on the roll (probably taken by a member of the tribe), and they reveal the hunters’ unfortunate end.  If the reader looks closely he can count seven women in the cannibals' cooking pot.  This was not the end these valiant women have envisioned, though, a number of people from Amelia’s hometown had expressed concern for the women’s safety.  Amelia’s pastor, for one, expressed his reservations about the expedition:

That ignorant bitch’ll be lucky if she doesn’t blow her own goddam [sic] head off.  First off, any dumb ass knows there ain’t no elephants in the south seas.  Mark my words.  She’s going to get the whole lot of them served up like Thanksgiving dinner to a bunch of godless heathern [sic].  I just wish I could be there to see the look on her face when they cram that apple in her giant yap and shove that big old stalk of celery up her [other end]."  [Author’s note: No pictures involving the insertion of apples or celery were ever found.]

What a tragic end for a woman who was loved and respected by all who knew her.
